Antonio is an Austin-born and raised native who attended, almost as a rite of passage, the University of Texas in Austin. A son of Guatemalan immigrant parents, Antonio has spent his entire life at the intersection of Hispanic and American culture, almost feeling at odds with one another. In fact, displacement is almost commonplace for him: a landlocked surfer, funky, colorful clothing-wearing try-hard, serial taster of all cuisines, and first in his family to graduate from college. However, this feeling of displacement, along with growing up in some of the craziest times of recent memory, pushed Antonio to pursue an interestingly varied education. He got his bachelor of arts in Sociology with supplemental education in Government, Healthcare, and History in order to better understand the world around him and the problems and strife that inhabit the communities he’s been a part of his entire life.
