Alison Skinner (they/she) is a queer Austin-based figure painter focusing on the portrayal of all bodies, specifically black and brown bodies, that have been underrepresented in the fine art realm of figure art. As a person of mixed race and ethnicity, her background inspires her to personify herself as means to understand the beauty of diversity within herself and others. Her study of bodies reflects a deep admiration and tenderness that encourages self exploration and acceptance toward ourselves and humanity in general.
