Carmen Rangel is a creator in many ways, but painting is her main passion, whether it’s on canvas, walls, or anything she can get her hands on. Growing up in Austin surrounded by nature and water sparked her interest in all things natural, botanical, and colorful. Most if not all of her work is influenced by food, flowers, and plants due to the qualities that womanhood and organic elements have in common such as creation, growth, resilience, and nurturing. Painting has always been a way for Carmen to explore these ideas in a fun way by placing emphasis on super bright colors, nature, and a dash of Latinx influences.
