J is a mural painter, mosaic maker and public artist, alongside working as a community art advocate and educator. Originally from Houston and a graduate of the University of Texas with a degree in Sociology, J has since travelled extensively and lived abroad painting numerous large-scale murals in places as far reaching as Taiwan, New Zealand and Okinawa, Japan. J is best known for his exciting and energetic large-scale mosaics, vibrant murals, and unique style of community engagement involving community members of all ages and abilities.

In personal work, J’s brightly stylized pixel pop art mosaics are inspired by his roots as an aerosol street artist.
